Meet Year 9 student, Charlie, who loves tennis and being on the Student Representative Committee. We also discovered he has a secret talent for creating ice cream flavours!
Five things that make you happy?
- The thing that makes me the absolute happiest is my family
- My two pet dachshunds, also known as sausage dogs, Peppa and Olive
- Another thing that makes me happy is my tennis as I love tennis
- Getting to spend time with my family
- Gardening with my dad.
Highlights of the year so far?
So far, some highlights of the year for me are getting into the SRC and becoming the middle school’s student representative for the Health Promoting Schools committee.
Another highlight is starting seniors’ tennis comp on a Saturday.
If you invented an ice cream flavour, what ingredients would it have, and what would it be called?
I would call it Fruit Loop Juice ice-cream. It would have a mix of fruit flavours like, watermelon, lemon, mango and orange.
What do you like most about VSV?
The thing I like most about VSV is that there is not as much pressure as a regular school and also that the staff and teachers are always there to help and support you with schoolwork or anything you might need.
Which VSV values do you identify with most and why? (Growth, empathy, respect and collaboration)
Probably growth and respect. I always feel that there are ways you can grow and there is always something you can do. If you put your gut into it, you can do absolutely anything you want to do.
You should always treat people with respect and treat people how you want to be treated.
What is your proudest achievement this year?
This year my proudest achievement is probably getting a job as a tennis coach at my club.
