Congratulations to VSV’s trivia team, Vulture Skill Victorious, for winning a gold medal at the recent Victorian Teachers’ Games in Traralgon! Competing against schools across the state, the team also secured fourth place out of 15 in the Amazing Race event.

The Victorian Teachers’ Games bring together over 2,200 educators each year for a mix of sporting, recreational, and social activities.

Virtual School Victoria was represented by:  Will Watson, Carly McDermott, Laura Wong, James Watt, Celia Milton, and Stephen Hodder.

Special recognition goes to Will Watson, Year 10 Health & Physical Education teacher, for organising the team,

‘It was a great chance to get to know my VSV colleagues better through recreational and competitive activities,’ said Will.

‘While it was incredible winning a gold medal, we would have had a great time even without it.’

He credited the school’s values as key to their trivia victory.

‘We had robust debates about each trivia question, but we always respected each other’s ideas and showed empathy for different perspectives. This helped us collaborate effectively, grow our skills, and secure the gold.’

Will also praised teammate Celia Milton’s impressive shooting skills.

She expertly threw a rugby ball into a netball hoop and scored six baskets!

Well done, team!
