Providing accurate, timely, transparent and specific assessment of student progress is fundamental in supporting students to learn. Understanding the knowledge and skills that students possess at any given time allows us to provide challenging and accessible learning opportunities targeted to meet individual needs.
The Victorian Curriculum is the basis for teaching and learning in Years F – 10. It outlines what every student should learn during their first 11 years of schooling. The Victorian Curriculum is structured as a continuum across levels of learning achievement not years of schooling. This enables the development of learning programs based on the actual learning level of each student rather than their assumed level of learning based on age.
We are committed to providing students, parents and carers with timely, reliable and specific information regarding student progress. Our reports provide a straightforward and easy to understand summary of student achievement and progress in each subject, as well as advice for future learning.

In Years F – 10, students and parents or carers receive the following reports related to student achievement against the Victorian Curriculum F – 10 Achievement Standards:
- Years F – 6 end of semester reports
- Years 7 – 10 progress reports and end of semester reports.
Progress reports are written at the end of Term 1 and Term 3. These reports include a formative statement from each subject teacher, an indication as to the progress of the student and an indication as to the completion of Launch Pad from the Learning Advisor.
End of semester reports are written at the end of Terms 2 and Term 4. These reports provide a summary of student achievement in relation to the Victorian Curriculum Achievement Standards. The Semester Report also contains a general comment from the student’s Learning Advisor about their overall progress.
VCE reports
In Years 11 – 12 two forms of reports are available to students, parents and carers; progress reports and end of semester reports.
Students and parents or carers receive a progress report at the mid-point of each semester. The information given in progress reports provides students and parents or carers with summary information about work submitted, the quality of work that has been submitted and student engagement. Teachers may also request further communication with the student and or parent or carers via the progress report.
At the end of Semester 1 students and parents or carers receive a detailed semester report. Year 11 students will also receive a report at the end of Semester 2. The end of semester report provides a summary of student learning and achievement over the semester in each subject and advice about future learning. The report also contains a general comment from the student’s Learning Advisor about their overall progress.
