Year 7 Drama
Overview
Drama can be performance, but it is also exploration and imagination, collaboration and independent projects. It is telling stories in different ways. And drama is a safe space for finding out about you and the world around you.
In this course, you will build your skills and knowledge of Drama independently. You will have the option of coming together with your fellow classmates. Weekly online lessons will be a central point of contact. These will provide an opportunity for you to feel comfortable with other students and their ideas before meeting.
Improvisation activities are fun and energetic way to build confidence, communication and social skills. However, it is important for you to remember that Drama is not just about acting. There are many other aspects of creating and making theatre. All students can make valuable contributions depending on their interests and learning program.
What do you do?
In studying this subject you will:
- investigate radio dramas and make your own
- explore the many traditions of puppets and design your own
- find out what the actor’s tools are and how they support performers
- work with others to write an ensemble piece for performance.
What skills do you develop?
You will develop skills in:

- leadership
- independent learning.
